Highly researched and based on documentary descriptions, extant examples and paintings. Please see the image of the pattern envelope for specific sources.
One size.
We recommend paste buckram for making the foundation for this headdress and brushed cotton ('domette') for covering it.
We carry a variety of jewels to decorate your hood, including pearls and gold plated 'ouches' with imitation gemstones in three colours. We also offer a full billiment of jewels custom made to go across the top of a French hood.
The French hood pattern is also available as a full kit with all the necessary materials included (except jewels for decoration).
Please note, photos of actual garments are examples only – no garments are included with this product.

I love having the pattern, and being able to access TT designs, and am sure I will use it many times. My first experiment has turned out well. I am frustrated though by the vagueness of the instructions in TT patterns - more detailed written and pictorial instructions would be very much appreciated. I made a few mistakes, which I will learn from, but wouldn't have made them with clearer instructions.
