What size pattern do I need?

Men’s and Women’s patterns come in sizes small or large. Size charts can be viewed here.

Women Small:

  • (UK) 8, 10,12, 14, 16, 18
  • (US) 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16
  • (Europe) 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46 

Women Large:

  • (UK) 20, 22, 24, 26, 28
  •  (US) 18, 20, 22, 24, 26
  • (Europe) 48, 50, 52, 54, 56

 Men’s Small:

  • Waist: 32-40 inches/81-102cm
  • Chest: 38-46 inches/96.5-117cm 

Men’s Large:

  • Waist: 42-50 inches/107-127cm
  • Chest: 48-56 inches/122-142cm

Will I be charged tax and duties at the border?

International customers, please note that there may be additional taxes and duties due when your order arrives, but we have no way of estimating what these may be. You will be responsible for paying these.

My order hasn't arrived

We send all orders via a tracked service from here in the UK so you can check the progress of your order using the tracking number provided. Please check that the postal address you have entered is correct. In general, once your order has been despatched Royal Mail and/or ParcelForce aim for it to arrive within 24 hours within the UK,  3-5 working days for the Europe and within 5-7 working days for the rest of the world - however, we can't guarantee a delivery time for international destinations since packages will have to clear Customs.

How do I return an item?

Please message us if you have problems with any of our products. We will issue a refund on unused merchandise if it is returned to us in its original condition. The one exception to this rule is our previously worn costumes. We regret that we cannot offer returns or refunds on costumes, as returns on items such as these are not very practical, particularly if shipping internationally where customs duties might be involved. Therefore, please check all measurements (both yours and those of the costume!) carefully. If you have any questions about the garments or need more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Will I get an actual garment?

No. Most of our listings are for books, patterns or kits that enable to you make your own garment. Occasionally we offer previously worn costumes for sale, but this is made very clear in the listing. If you are interested in commissioning a garment please contact ninya@tudortailor.com

Are the patterns available as PDFs?

We don’t currently offer any of our patterns in a digital format but we hope to do so in the future.

Can I visit your shop?

Our shop is part of a costume making studio and does not run as a regular high street shop. However, visitors are welcome by appointment. In addition, we trade twice a year (usually November and March) at the Artisan’s & Reenactor’s Market (ARM) in Warwickshire. The market is open to the general public -  see https://www.armarket.uk/ for details.
