Sewing pattern for ladies’ early Tudor-era French hoods. Worn on the continent, and by members of the English and Scottish royal family, between c1485-c1520. With full instructions for choosing materials, sizing and constructing garments - perfect for reenactors.

Highly researched and based on documentary descriptions, extant examples and paintings. Please see the image of the pattern envelope for specific sources.

One size.

We recommend paste buckram for making the foundation for this headdress and brushed cotton ('domette') for covering it.

We carry a variety of jewels to decorate your hood, including pearls and gold plated 'ouches' with imitation gemstones in three colours. We also offer a full billiment of jewels custom made to go across the top of a French hood.

The French hood pattern is also available as a full kit with all the necessary materials included (except jewels for decoration).

Please note, photos of actual garments are examples only – no garments are included with this product.
