Frieze wool hood suitable for a poor man made for The Typical Tudor book.
Based on a number of sources including a figure in a stained glass window (circa 1480) depicting October from the Labours of the months, Victoria & Albert Museum, London, inventory number C.134-1931 and bedesmen on a monument to two unknown women (circa 1520) at St Andrew’s Church, Prestwold, Charnwood, Leicestershire.
The thick, non-fray wool is cut at the edges, rather than hemmed. Very cosy and warm!
• 100% Welsh wool
• Good condition, as new
