Synthetic 4mm whalebone - ideal for bodies or corsets and sleeve supports - 10 yards (9.1 metres)
Synthetic 4mm whalebone - ideal for bodies or corsets and sleeve supports - 10 yards (9.1 metres)
• Synthetic whalebone (plastic)
• Slightly wider than ⅛in (4mm) x ¹⁄₃₂in (1mm) thick
• Supplied in a 10yd (9.1m) roll
This superb synthetic German whalebone is a smooth, white plastic boning that is light in weight, washable, strong and resistant to crinkles. It is also a good alternative for bents (dried stems of grasses) and, being narrow, can fit in the closely worked bone channels seen in extant garments.
This boning provides medium support and is suitable for use with The Tudor Tailor patterns for Elizabethan bodies and corsets, the Henrician kirtle for both women and girls, and sleeve supports including those in the Henrician man's gown.

I used this to make 18th century stays and it worked great! I had to order more halfway through my project and it arrived in a timely manner and in great condition! I’m in the USA and it got here in a week!
