This particular design is based on worked thread buttons on an extant doublet worn by Herzog Moritz von Sachsen-Larenburg (1605-1610) in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nürnberg. This doublet was illustrated in Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion 3: the cut and construction of clothes for men and women c1560-1620.

We're thrilled to offer a variety of reproduction buttons made exclusively for The Tudor Tailor by Michael Perry. All are based on original sources and are cast in lead-free pewter. They are sold in boxes of 12.

Please note, the photo with the black background shows various button styles we offer and is only for reference. This listing is for 12 matching buttons of a single style.

Any photos of the buttons sewn to a garment is for illustrative purposes only - no garments are included in this listing.
