This button design is a pewter version of a common type, depicted in many Tudor portraits, which was worked with thread over a wooden base. Similar to extant thread buttons discovered on the Mary Rose which sank in 1546.
We're thrilled to offer a variety of reproduction buttons made exclusively for The Tudor Tailor by Michael Perry. All are based on original sources and are cast in lead-free pewter. They are sold in boxes of 12.
