Pattern for late Elizabethan men’s paned trunk hose. Appropriate for middle-class and upper-class men in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. With full instructions for choosing materials, sizing and constructing garments - perfect for reenactors.

This is an improved version of the pattern that used to be part of our Late Elizabethan man's peascod doublet and trunk hose pattern. The new version features improved instructions and new photography. And since it is now a standalone pattern, it can be paired with a variety of doublets, though if you want the peascod look you can find it here.

These trunk hose were very popular with the gentlemen in Queen Elizabeth's court and can be seen in the portraits of Robert Devereux, the Earl of Essex, Sir Walter Raleigh and others. Make them in silk for nobility or in wool for middling sorts.

Highly researched and based on documentary descriptions, extant examples and paintings. Please see the image of the pattern envelope for specific sources.

This pattern is available in either larger sizes or smaller sizes. Please see the size chart included in the photos for this listing to ensure you're selecting the correct pattern for you.

Note, photos of actual garments are examples only – no garments are included with this product.
