Pattern for Henrician lady's gown
Pattern for Henrician lady's gown
• Made exclusively by The Tudor Tailor
Sewing pattern for a Henrician or early Tudor lady's gown in various styles. Ideal for Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Princess Elizabeth and other ladies 1530-1560. Designed to be worn over a kirtle and foresleeves (note the large foresleeves are not included in the gown pattern). Separate bodies (corset) are not necessary. With full instructions for choosing materials and constructing garments - perfect for reenactors.
Previously sold as a three-part pattern pack (Henrician lady's gown, kirtles and petticoats), we have now separated out the elements, enabling customers to pick and choose which items they require. Now printed on a sturdy, yet lightweight paper, postage costs have been reduced from the previous bulky pack.
We still offer the kirtle and foresleeves, as well as the petticoat in their own patterns. Please note, this gown is intended to be worn and fitted over those garments.
Highly researched and based on documentary descriptions, extant examples and paintings. See the listing images for specific sources.
This pattern is available in either larger sizes or smaller sizes. Please see the size chart included in the photos for this listing to ensure you're selecting the correct pattern for you.
We also have a children's version of this pattern, ideal for a young Princess Elizabeth.
Note, photos of actual garments are examples only – no garments are included with this product.
