Woman's late 15th to early 16th century Tudor style side-lacing kirtle made for The Typical Tudor book and suitable for a middling or gentle woman from 1485 to the 1540s
Made of 100% lightweight worsted wool lined in undyed cream linen. The kirtle is interlined in the bodies with canvas and has a square neckline at the front and a deep V at the back. The skirt is pleated to the waist at front and back. The kirtle has hand stitched eyelets for lacing closed at both sides, making for a very adjustable fit. All finishing is by hand and there is no visible machine stitching on the inside or outside.
Worn for a photoshoot and a few indoor events the kirtle is in good condition.
No other garments are included.
Measurements:
Waist 28in (70cm) when laced closed
Bust 33in (82.5cm) when laced closed
Skirt length from waist to hem 42in (101.5cm)
Originally made for a 5' 5" tall woman and the skirt subsequently lengthened to fit the 5' 7" tall model (see last photo for addtional band of worsted at hem)
We regret that we cannot offer returns or refunds on costumes. Returns on items such as these are not very practical, particularly if shipping internationally where customs duties might be involved. Therefore, please check all measurements (both yours and those of the costume!) carefully. If you have any questions about the garments or need more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
