Man's mid-century Tudor style doublet with slight peascod belly made for The Typical Tudor book and suitable for a lowly, middling or gentle man from the 1550s to the 1590s

Made of russet coloured cotton moleskin to represent fustian and lined with unbleached linen. The skirts and front edges are faced with silk taffeta. The doublet fastens at the front and wrists with small handmade silk thread buttons and hand-stitched buttonholes. There is one pair of handstitched eyelets abve the skirts at the front with a handmade silk point, finished with handmade and riveted aiglets for fastening. Hand-stitched eyelets are worked inside the waist for trussing hose. The doublet is entirely handstitched.

Worn only for a photoshoot and one indoor market the doublet is in excellent condition. 

No other garments are included.
