Finished garment - Tawny silk damask and worsted kirtle as featured in The Typical Tudor

Tudor stylekirtle made for The Typical Tudor book and suitable for a middling or gentle woman from 1545 to the 1600

Made of tawny 100% wool worsted with a forepart, bodice front and neckline of tawny 100% silk damask lined throughout with unbleached linen. The skirt features three black velvet covered rope 'welts' in the hem and is finished at the lower edge with a 'guard' of black velvet. All finishing is by hand and there is no visible machine stitching on the inside or outside. The bodies fasten at both sides through handworked eyelets. The kirtle on the model is worn over a red wool petticoat which is not included. 

Worn only for a photoshoot and a small number of indoor events the kirtle is in excellent condition.

Cap and smock are not included.

Waist 26 1/2in-30 1/2in (67cm-80cm) - can be laced with a 2in-4in gap

Bust 32 1/2in-36 1/2in (82.5cm-92.5cm) - can be laced with a 2in-4in gap

Skirt length from waist to hem 43in (109cm)

Made for a 5' 5" tall woman
