Man's mid-century Tudor style doublet made for The Typical Tudor book and suitable for a middling or gentle man from the 1540 to the 1570s
Made of cream/grey striped linen/cotton canvas lined througout with unbleached linen. The seams are finished with narrow welts (similar to modern piping) and the collar and wrists are edges with picadills. The jacket fastens at the front with hand embroidered and handmade cloth buttons and hand-stitched buttonholes. Eyelet holes are worked on the inside waist for trussing hose or breeches. All finishing is by hand and there is no visible machine stitching on the inside or outside.
Worn only for a photoshoot and one presentation the doublet is in excellent condition.
No other garments are included.
Please note: This is one of two very similar doublets. The other is smaller. Please double check the measurements to ensure the correct one is selected.
