Man's early to mid-century Tudor style doublet made for The Typical Tudor book and suitable for a lowly or middling man from the 1480s to the 1560s
Made of vintage hemp canvas lined with 100% wool to represent the Tudor fabric called 'cotton'. The doublet is cut to finish at the natural waist and has a simple 'grown on' collar. It fastens at the front with five pairs of handmade brass hooks and eyes. The sleeves finish at the cuff with a simple slit opening. Six pairs of hand-stitched eyelets are worked around the waist for trussing hose. T All finishing is by hand and there is no visible machine stitching on the inside or outside.
Worn for one photoshoot only the doublet is in excellent condition.
No other garments or points are included.
