Tudor style kirtle made for The Typical Tudor book and suitable for a lower or middle class woman throughout the sixteenth century.

Made of 'madder red' Tudor Tailor 2/2 twill, the upper bodies are interlined with linen canvas and the garment is lined throughout with unbleached linen. The bodies feature hand stitched eyelets for fastening at the front with a linen lace finished with handmade brass aiglets.

Worn once for an indoor market the kirtle is in excellent condition.

Waist 31 1/2in (80cm) when laced closed

Bust 36in (91.5cm) when laced closed

Skirt length from waist to hem 39in (99cm)

Made to fit a 5’ 6’ (167cm) tall model
