Finished garment - Tawny wool high bodied round gown as featured in The Typical Tudor

Tudor style high bodied round gown made for The Typical Tudor book and suitable for a middling or gentle woman from the 1550s to 1580s.

Made of tawny woollen 2/2 twill fabric lined with linen. All finishing is by hand and there is no visible machine stitching on the inside or outside. The bodies fasten at the front with handmade brass hooks and eyes and pairs of silk satin ribbons. The silk satin ribbons continue all the way down the skirt opening. The gown is guarded at the hems with black velvet ribbon. 

Worn only for a photoshoot and a small number of indoor markets the gown is in excellent condition. The only sign of wear is some muddy marks on the linen lining around the hem.

The gown is worn over a kirtle and separate pair of sleeves which are not included.

Made to fit a 5’ 7’ (170cm) tall model
