Black Tudor Style Worsted Wool Cloth - fabric sold by the half yard
Black Tudor Style Worsted Wool Cloth - fabric sold by the half yard
During the sixteenth century worsted was the choice of the middle and merchant classes for smart, aspirational garments. It is light, cool and fluid, making it perfect for summer gowns, kirtles, doublets and aprons. When colour is mentioned in documentary descriptions it is nearly always black. This fabric has a beautiful drape and sheen and looks wonderful trimmed with black velvet.
